Movin’ On Up
Allan Brown Assumes the Position with Moto XXX

The 2004 racing season was another successful one for Moto XXX. The team’s sponsors and fans were incredibly supportive and enthusiastic as their favorite underdogs secured top privateer honors in both Supercross (Damon Huffman) and the Outdoor Nationals (Kyle Lewis) as well as second place overall in the World Supercross Championship (Huffman). When that type of success becomes recurrent—which it has for Moto XXX—growth is inevitable.

Moto XXX Racing will enter the 2005 race season with more momentum and support than ever. Team ownership recognized the need to create a new leadership position both at the track and in the shop during the week. Duties that had long been performed by committee were consolidated to form a new Team Manager position. The only thing missing was someone to fill those shoes. Fortunately, the search was a short one. Allan Brown, who has been serving as Kyle Lewis’ mechanic for the past three years, will take the reins and run the day-to-day operations of the team.

“I’ll still be getting my hands dirty”, says the 2003 Supercross Mechanic of the Year. “I actually enjoy building engines and have learned a lot in the past three years. I feel like we have a really good 450 program and keeping that momentum is a big priority.”

In addition the overseeing engine development and overall performance of the race bikes, Brown will be directly involved with meeting any needs that riders or sponsors have and overseeing the individual mechanics. He’ll put his vast experience working with factory and privateer riders to use with the entire Moto XXX outfit.

Not missing a beat, the Moto XXX squad attended the U.S. Open of Supercross last weekend and performed admirably. Kyle Lewis and Damon Huffman both rode their potent Honda CRF450s to top ten main event and overall finishes. Huffman led the way by finishing 8th overall in both nights of competition. Lewis was 10th.

Brown and the rest of the team returned to testing and development this week. Kyle Lewis’ return is eminent, but some of the rider positions have yet to be announced. With the new team structure, one thing is certain. The CRF450s and 250s that the team fields in 2005 will be the even better than the ones that were so competitive this year.

Moto XXX would like to thank the following sponsors for their support in 2004, because without them, it couldn’t be done. American Honda, Yoshimura, O'neal, Honda Genuine Parts, Sidi, Tag Metals, Blackfoot, Motul, Pro-X, Utopia Optics, N-Style, Lucky 13, Uni Filter, VP Fuels, Braking, Motion Pro, Hinson, Metaltek,
